We all remember when Dorian Pavus saved Thedas singlehandedly with crazy-ass magic nobody else thought was possible while having to prevent the Inquisitor from boning it, right?

I think about this way too much. I mean, the writers have compared him to Tony Stark; he’s canonically a genius, the mage equivalent to a scientist and inventor. He jokes all the time about his astounding intellect, but he has actually got one hell of a mind to back it up. And that fascinates me, because it’s sort of a subtle background thing that’s taken for granted. If anything, when we see him working with the Inquisition, he’s probably actually limiting himself. (And part of me wonders if that’s because he doesn’t want to to make people more suspicious than they already are, or if it’s because he doesn’t want to end up like Alexius, all hubris and desperation; too much power and too little sense. Maybe he just doesn’t have the time and inclination to carry on radical experimentation with the Breach in the sky, almost a warning.)
