I’m watching Tommy’s video on his channel, the one of when he moved in under Technoblade’s house.  And I’m kinda getting some new realizations here, different than things we’ve been discussing here on Tumblr about their initial dynamic.  We were so wrapped up in the Sleepyboys Inc. dynamic we ignored a few very key points in the terms of their alliance.

It is very clear Tommy is right.  Technoblade did not listen to him at all.

• Tommy did not initially want to team with Techno.  Far from it actually.  Tommy just wanted to rob him and live in his basement.  He brought up the fact that Technoblade’s goals and ideas do not align with his, as Technoblade wants to destroy L’Manberg’s government.
• Technoblade was the one who asked Tommy to team with him.  He agreed to help Tommy get back his discs.
• Tommy only agreed to help Techno when he appeared to compromise with him, agreeing only to do “minor terrorism” in L’Manberg.
• Technoblade did not discuss the finer details of their agreement, as he said he would.  He used this to avoid the problem.
• Tommyinnit did not like the Wither Skull Vault, reiterating that he still only wanted his discs back.  He also seemed he thought he could convince Technoblade that L’Manberg didn’t need to be destroyed.  Sounds a lot like he was projecting a certain former president of L’Manberg onto him, just a little.
• Technoblade went on to hide and lie about whether or not he wanted to destroy L’Manberg so that Tommy would stay on his side.  He erased “destroy L’Manberg” from his to-do list to make it seem like he’d changed his mind.

I think for more optimistic fans of Technoblade like myself, it was easy at first to look past these initial things, and toward the cute brother dynamic.  But I think Techno is guilty of hypocrisy here.  Because Technoblade inadvertently did the exact same thing to Tommy that Pogtopia did to him: he didn’t listen to what he really had to say, and just assumed he’d come around to his ideals eventually and be completely on his side.  And when he didn’t, all hell broke loose.

Yeesh.  This whole thing is a mess.
